Netflix is giving you a gift early this Christmas, but it won’t fit under the tree. This year live NFL Games will stream On Netflix. NFL’s two Christmas Day headline games, Chiefs vs. Steelers (the winners of Super Bowl LVII) and Ravens vs. Texans, on December 25, 2024, around the world. And as part of this three-season deal, put Christmas Day in 2025 and 2026 on your calendar since we’ll be broadcasting at least one holiday game every year.
Since a few years ago, Netflix has been collaborating with the NFL, starting in 2023 with the popular series Quarterback. Receiver, which will debut this summer on Netflix, will track five of the NFL’s top pass catchers both on and off the field in 2023: Amon-Ra St. Brown (Lions), Justin Jefferson (Vikings), George Kittle and Deebo Samuel (49ers), and Davante Adams (Raiders).
Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria says, “Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live — tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports, and more.” “No live annual event, whether it be sports-related or not, draws crowds comparable to those of NFL football. The NFL’s Christmas Day games will only be available on Netflix, which has us giddy.

Before resuming semi-regular Yuletide games in 1989, the NFL introduced them in 1971. Since 2020, the Raiders vs. Chiefs game—yes, Taylor Swift and Santa Claus attended—drew the biggest Christmas Day viewing since 1988. Last year’s three Christmas games are among the top 25 most-viewed TV shows of 2023. The NFL has hosted thirty Christmas competitions in all. In keeping with the league’s long-standing holiday customs, the Netflix Christmas Day games will be accessible on US mobile devices with NFL+ and broadcast TV in the cities of the competing teams. The league has also made available the whole schedule for 2024–2025.
